Good news for families of young teens: Federal health officials have authorized a booster dose of the COVID-19 vaccine for kids who are at least 12 years old. Anyone eligible who got two doses of the mRNA COVID vaccine at least five months ago is strongly encouraged to get a booster. As COVID cases continue to climb, this added protection helps prevent severe illness and hospitalization in kids and adults. For the latest information about COVID vaccines and boosters from pediatric infectious disease specialist James Campbell, MD, FAAP, read his article here.

There have been nearly 8.5 million COVID cases in children and teens since the start of the pandemic. As pediatrician Pamela Simms-Mackey, MD, FAAP, explains, being fully vaccinated and boosted helps protect kids and everyone around them. It also helps keep them attending school and other activities that are so important for their physical and mental health.
Also, read why Chicago teen Benjamin Kagan couldn't wait to get the vaccine and started a volunteer group to help others get their shots. Go to article.

Cut different colored construction paper into 3" by 10" strips. Make arches by taping the ends of the strips to the floor. Using an empty gift-wrap tube as a mallet, show your child how to knock a small ball through an arch. Then, help them master two- to three-step directions like, “Hit the ball through the yellow arch, the blue arch, and then the red arch.” This is great for children two years old and up.
