As we've learned during the COVID-19 pandemic, going to school in person is how students learn best. With the new school year starting, though, many students are not yet eligible to get COVID-19 vaccines. This can leave them at risk, especially as the highly contagious Delta variant infects more children. But there are proven ways that schools, families, and communities can help keep students healthy in school. Learn more.

 

Some families wonder whether prolonged mask-wearing by daycare providers, preschool teachers, and other adults may negatively affect their child's speech and language development. While it's a natural concern, there's no evidence that masks delay development. More importantly, there is plenty families do at home to boost a child's language and social communication.
